Throne Trip Tuesdays - Trust for More

The disciples boarded the boat and headed for the other side of the lake, believing they would make it with no problems. But when the storm began to rage, their doubt was then revealed. It was at this point that Jesus had to rebuke the disciples for their unbelief and remind them that no matter how bad it got out there, He was with them.

When our family members are well, our finances are in order, and our health is intact, we believe we can make it through anything with unfaltering faith. But then we get an unexpected diagnosis, a pay cut, or the news that one of our children has strayed, and suddenly we begin to question just how much we truly rely upon the Lord and trust in His sovereignty and provision.

When we feel our faith needs bolstering, it's time to dig into the Word of God, spend time in prayer, and strengthen our trust in Him so that when the tough times come, as they will, we will be prepared to meet them head on, knowing no matter how bad it gets, He is always here.

A person who wholly follows the Lord is one who believes that the promises of God are trustworthy, that He is with His people, and that they are well able to overcome. Watchman Nee

"How funny. . .not funny, a GOD THING that I was thinking along these same lines, read today's Journey devotion entitled Trouble, with Romans 8:28-30 for the Deeper Walk verses, and am just about to post a similar post. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!!!

You are so right! And, how many times do we forget to go back and say "thank you" after God has seen us through some tough times?

So true Susan. It is easy to love someone who loves you back and it is easy to have faith in God when everything is going your way.
