- To market, to market, to buy a fat pig,
- Home again, home again, jiggety-jig.
- To market, to market, to buy a fat hog,
- Home again, home again, jiggety-jog.
- To market, to market, to buy a plum bun,
- Home again, home again, market is done.
Maybe we are the plums! Both Laynn and I are wearing the color plum. Isn't she a beautiful gal? So is my friend, Barbie. Here we are on Beale Street in downtown Memphis. We loved the colors on this wall so used it for a backdrop. Barbie's husband, Dan, took the photo for us. He was such a good sport being our driver. He took us shopping, sightseeing, and restauranting. Ok, maybe that's not an actual word but it works. lol
Beale Street was an interesting mix of people, food, and shops. But isn't that how God created us? We are a mix of people from all different walks of life. We have a variety of gifts and talents. Yet, our common thread is that we are each fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator. He loves each one of us the same.
Here I am signing my name on the wall at Graceland. Yes, I'm a dork. But if I wasn't such a dork, I wouldn't have met these lovely people from the Netherlands. After I signed my name on the wall, one of the gals in their group asked to borrow the marker. While they were picking their spot on the wall, I introduced myself, and extended my hand in welcome. This was their second visit to America. The next stops on their "musical tour" were St. Louis and Chicago. On their first visit to America, they traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles on Route 66. It was fun meeting and visiting with them.
Shouldn't we love people around us with that same kind of love? Clearly, we should. Is there someone in your life you should extend the hand of friendship? Reach out to them today, This Day, and watch God work in you and through you.
Peace and Joy,
