Desultory Deuce

My dear blog peep Linda has been hosting this meme for months. THANK YOU, LID! But the poor girl is Taaard. Who can blame her? Certainly not me. This will be the last regularly scheduled Random. I will be sad to see it go. Lid's questions have been fun and thought provoking. I've answered some seriously and some silly. The best part, I've gotten to know many of you so much better through your answers. I've also revealed things about myself I probably wouldn't have otherwise. Now I have to come up with my own post every Wednesday. *heavy sigh*.

Appropriate for this season and today, for The Random, that is--Robert Frost wrote:

Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

1. What scares you the most

A) Physically
B) Emotionally

I can scare myself emotionally with imagination. Seriously! Watching the news. Reading the newspaper. Allowing the mind to drift on "what if's."
But being burglarized. Home invasion. That's one of my biggest physical fears.

Why does it scare you, and how do you cope? My hubby works for the prison system. Nuff said! I cope with it by believing that God protects His children. By praying for that protection daily. By believing in Him and Mr. Smith...and Mr. Wesson. lol

2. What comes to mind when you read the phrase, "Nothing gold can stay?" That this world is temporary and I should be laying up treasure in heaven not depending on the things of man.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Please hop over to Lidna's at 2nd Cup of Coffee and visit the other "Dozenettes." Or join in the fun by posting your own responses and linking up.

Peace and Joy,
Susan

Matthew 6:19-20 (NKJV) 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

I too work to take every thought captive. I have a big imagination and try not to let it run wild too often.
Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson -ha!

Happy Wednesday! I think I found your blog thru the RD : )

I'm so glad you played today! I quoted the same scripture in my own answers. I will be sorry to not have the regular prompts, but am looking forward to visiting my bloggy friends regularly, even without the 'doz.'

You and I, both, have quite the imagination. I can scare myself, too. Ha! The prison system? Who knew?

"Dozenettes"= cute. I'll miss it too.

I enjoyed this one today! We have had home invasion but thankfully were not home. It was at Terry's apt in Tulsa before we moved to Dallas and they took EVERYTHING.

You feel so vulnerable ALWAYS.

I've always had to rein in my imagination as well!

Love your perspective on question 2!

I have an incredibly active imagination, too. Once, when CH was in the National Guard, I was washing clothes at the laundry mat. A guy came in with a briefcase, went to the bathroom, and came out without it. I just knew it was a bomb and it had been put there because they knew CH was in a Special Forces Unit! I got my clothes and high-tailed it out of there!
