Count Your Blessings

Yesterday, my blog buddy, Rick at Organized Doodles, posted this Pet Peeve monster and made a challenge to get some of my own angst off my chest. So what are some of my pet peeves? People who complain.....you know them.....they're around every day. They are the Debbie Downers who never have anything good to say to you or about you. A friend of mine calls them "toxic relationships." These people are toxic to themselves and everyone around them.

What is your solution when people like this try to bring you down.....suck you in to their toxic world? Me? I turn it around on them. When they want to talk about this situation, or that problem.....I remind them of the many blessings they have that counteract those problems.

Have you tried that? What do you do when you are feeling down? Try listing your blessings! Every single one of them. Even if you have an illness, are unemployed, or just need a moral boost, writing down your blessings truly puts things into perspective. Do you remember the song....Count Your Blessings?

So I challenge you today, This Day, to kick that Pet Peeve monster to the curb and count your blessings. They are numerous and your attitude and outlook will be changed for the better.

Peace and Joy,
Susan

2 Peter 1:4 (NIV) Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

I love this video. It is so easy to just walk outside and enjoy the many blessings right in front of us!

Susan, I love this song and know every word to all the verses. When we would complain as children my mama and daddy would start singing this song. It's one of my favorites. All you have to do is to look around and no matter how bad off you think you are there is always someone in worse condition.
Harry and I always count our blessings.
You are a blessing.

The reason I do a "Thankful Thursday" blog post is, truly if you think up 5 blessings each week it does change your attitude. You are right!
