I Heard the Bells

It's Christmas Time in the City! Most of the hotels in Las Vegas do it up big for Christmas. But not a single one of them ever beats the Bellagio. Huge trees. Animated scenes. Florals. Archways. Water spouts. It is amazing. They do not disappoint.

Here is my best effort to capture the silver bells hanging from the ceiling of the atrium.

The colors, fragrance, and sheer magnitude are breathtaking.  Have you heard the bells? Check out this video of Casting Crowns rendition.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting. For those playing along in the 25 Daily Christmas Photo Challenge, tomorrow is hippopotamus day. Have you found one yet? Can't wait to see your pictures for that prompt.

Peace and Joy,
Susan

Luke 1:26-28 (NKJV) 26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

I just read on another blogger friend that this song was inspired by a poem Longfellow wrote. During the civil war his son was injured and his wife died. He was in despair until he heard the church bells ringing and knew then that God did not abandon him. Knowing the background of the song makes it even that more special.
