How do you get past that point? For me....I'm asking for help from the only One who can really give me what I need. He is where my focus needs to be....on Him. Isn't that what happened to Peter? Jesus bid him to come out onto the water....and Peter walked on the water! That must have been an exhilarating moment for Peter when he stepped out of that boat. Can't you just see the huge grin on Peter's face as he's walking towards the Lord? But then something happens to Peter. He starts to sink into the water. Instead of keeping his focus on Jesus, he looks at everything else going on around him.....the huge waves, the gusting wind, the boat in the distance (his comfort zone). When they returned to the boat together, the winds subsided.
Today, This Day, I am refocusing on Jesus rather than everything around me that needs to be accomplished. When Jesus is the focus everything else will fall into place.
Peace and Joy,
Susan
Matthew 14:30-32 (NIV) Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" 31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" 32And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

I believe that too, when our focus is on the Lord and His works all of our problems and joys will fall into the right places.

I have a strong faith in aligning priorities, God must always come first.
It helps me to think of God being the center of my life; and then everything I do & say must radiate out from the center/God. The visiual helps me se that God is truly a part of every part of my life. And, like you said, "I need to focus" on my central core. Thanks, Susan.
Great Verses. I followed you here from Katherine's blog. I agree this is the year to reach out to our fellow man and help. This year, more than before, people need our help.
